As an institution that has social entrepreneurs who are at the same time part of the academe, SEDPI conducts various research for development organizations. SEDPI is often commissioned to conduct market research, competition analysis, impact assessments and the like.

SEDPI tracks the social performance of microfinance institutions since 2005. The wealth of researches conducted to microfinance institutions are integrated in training modules to back up theory and practice.
