SEDPI Capital Credit, Inc. is the financing arm of the Social Enterprise Development Partnerships, Inc. (SEDPI). It evolved from SEDPI's Alternative Finance Program.
SCCI aims to provide loans to microfinance institutions and social enterprises. Microfinance Institutions are Rural Banks, Cooperatives and Non-Government Organizations that provide access to financial services to low income households. On the other hand, social enterprises are businesses that create wealth with the intention of servicing a defined constituency involving the marginalized sectors of society.
There is a strategic link between SEDPI and SEDPI Capital. Both corporations offer services that complement each other. SEDPI as a capacity building could provide leads to potential clients to SEDPI Capital. In SEDPI’s quest to improve the capacity of microfinance institutions to reach more microenterprises and achieve financial sustainability, it could use SEDPI Capital in providing funds to emerging and strengthened MFIs under its organizational appraisal and technical and mentoring assistance services. On the other hand, SEDPI Capital could give potential clients to SEDPI to microfinance institutions needing further capacity building. Diagram 1 shows the organizational structures of the two organizations.
